Purpose

The cashier is responsible for providing exceptional customer service during the checkout process. This role requires a friendly demeanour, strong attention to detail, and the ability to handle transactions accurately and efficiently. The Cashier plays a crucial role in creating an excellent retail experience for our customers.

Requirements

  • Completed NSSCO/NSSCAS or Grade 12.
  • One (1) year experience as a Cashier, or similar role.
  • Proficiency in using a point of sale (POS) system.
  • General Electrical knowledge would serve as an added advantage.
  • Excellent computer literacy capabilities.
  • High level of accuracy.

Key Result Areas

  • Foster and maintain strong relationships with existing clients, ensuring their ongoing satisfaction with our brand.
  • Process cash, card, EFT and account transactions accurately.
  • Issue invoices, receipts, refunds and credit notes in accordance with company procedures.
  • Scan or enter price code on the till.
  • Count float to check for correctness.
  • Process cash and electronic transactions.
  • Write out cash sales in manual invoice book if system is offline & transfer to the computer once online.
  • Reconcile daily transactions.
  • Process Credits and refund Customer or credit account if no additional invoice is required.
  • Participate in bi-annual stock stocks.
